Chester Housing Authority to Provide Summer Learning Camp for Young Residents- PRESS RELEASE

The Chester Housing Authority (CHA) will host a free summer camp for three weeks in July and August for resident children ages 7 to 13.

The camp will provide a unique summer experience for children, with assorted classes in ballet, jazz, cheerleading, tumbling, DJ and rap music, basketball, science health care, arts and crafts and academics. The Da Vinci Science Center, located in Allentown, Pa., will also fund a full day of activities during the three-week program, including medical dissection and DNA abstraction, as well as hands-on learning opportunities like brain games and a science fair. "Every summer, we try to create enriching opportunities that our children may not otherwise have during these months," said Steven A. Fischer, Executive Director of CHA. "So we are extremely excited to have the Da Vinci Science Center supporting us this year, along with the other classes that are provided. "The camp is sponsored in part by CEO Academy, a virtual and onsite training company for youth and adults, which launched at CHA earlier this year. "When we began our partnership with CEO Academy in February, we received a lot of great feedback from our adult resident participants," said Fischer. "Now that school is out for the summer, we thought it made sense to expand the program to our younger residents as well. The CHA summer camp runs July 16-19, July 23-26, and August 6-10. It will be held at the William Penn Community Center. Advanced registration is required with limited seats. For more information or to register, call 1-888-255-5182 or email [email protected]
